  SousChef Icon   Recipe Import Overview

The Import Recipe window works by letting you select areas of text and label them. It then interprets those areas of text according to the label and creates a formatted recipe card within SousChef.

If you are importing a recipe from a web page, begin by following the Instructions on importing from a web page. If you are importing from a file, follow the Instructions on importing from a file. Then:

1. Define an Import Area by clicking and dragging a box over the text, much like you would when selecting a file in the Finder.
2. Choose a label from the list that appears when the box is created.

3. For best import accuracy, adjust the area to cover only the text specified by its label. You may move an Import Areabox by clicking anywhere inside the box frame and dragging. You can resize it by dragging the tab located at bottom right corner of the box.

After you have defined an area it will look something like this:

4. Repeat steps 1-3 for every section of the recipe you would like to import. When you have finished defining Import Areas for all the different sections of the recipe, click . SousChef will automatically format the recipe and place it in your recipe library.
